Five Things to Do on St. Patrick’s Day in Colorado

St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner and there are many ways to celebrate the day in Colorado! The cultural holiday, held on the 17th of March, observes the death of Saint Patrick, known as the patron saint of Ireland. Overtime, St. Patrick’s Day has evolved into a day of celebrating Irish culture including events such as parades, eating special foods and of course, wearing green. • The Original Colorado Springs Food Tour 

St. Patrick’s Day is known for its many traditional Irish dishes including corned beef, lamb stew and chicken and leek pie. With all of the wonderful cultural dishes to try, why not spend St. Patrick’s Day on a food tour? Originating in 2010, the very popular Original Colorado Springs Food Tour is a three hour tour, which visits five downtown Colorado Springs restaurants, each ready to serve their delicious signature dishes.

In addition to tasty food, those who join the tour will also learn all about the interesting history of Colorado with fun facts about the state!

• 5k For St. Patrick’s Day 

St. Patrick’s Day isn’t just about the appetizing food. In Colorado Springs, you can celebrate the holiday with a unique activity, such as completing a 5K run! Labeled the “flattest” 5K in Colorado Springs, the 38th annual 5K for St. Patrick’s Day is held in downtown Colorado Springs and is perfect for those who enjoy athletic activities. Racers are encouraged to show up in your finest green attire and shamrocks! The race is set to take place March 12, 2022 at 10am MST.

• 38th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade 

Next, if you are looking for a family-friendly way to spend St. Patrick’s Day, the 38th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade is the perfect activity! Parade goers can enjoy the biggest parade in Colorado Springs on Saturday, March 12, 2022 in the downtown area. Join hundreds as they parade down Tejon street in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day! Wear your finest green apparel and prepare to have a great time. 

• Olde Town Arvada’s St. Patrick’s Day Festival 2022

St. Patrick’s Day is a holiday filled with cheer and good times and there’s no better way to have fun than by attending a festival! Located in Arvada, CO, the family friendly St. Patrick’s Day Festival features live music, numerous vendors, food and libations for attendees to enjoy. Make sure to visit the Olde Town merchants, as well. With free admission, you’re sure to enjoy your St. Patrick’s Day! 

• Pedalin’ St. Pat’s 30K & 50k

Finally, the Pedalin’ St. Pat’s 30K & 50k bike ride will take place over the course of two days. Organized by the Colorado Springs Cycling Club, the bike ride will include both intermediate and challenging rides. Register for the ride beforehand and come dressed to celebrate the occasion! The bike ride is set to take place March 19th at 11am.
